I wouldn't know, having only read the opening sentence: "If you are fortunate enough to have a well or some other stable, reliable source of off-grid water, you probably can stop reading."

Just kidding, of course.

There are times here when my little stream goes dry. It didn't happen last year, but it did in previous summers. I don't drink from the stream, but it's a fallback supply of water in the event of an extended power outage.

There's ALWAYS the chance of a well going dry or getting contaminated. And THAT reminds me that I've never tested my well's water. That's something I really should do soon. It tastes great, but we don't know what we're drinking.
