BTW, this may not apply to American Airlines as they've already updated most of their new MAX 8 aircraft to fix the autopilot system. Southwest airlines has started to upgrade their planes as well, so this may not have as big of an impact on air travel as some have feared. Besides, there are only 59 MAX 8 and MAX 9 flying in the US at the moment.
