Re: “Idiocracy”
Several of the examples fail to support the point. "Unhealthy" is not the same as "Idiotic." In particular:

#11 Today, the average American spends 86 hours a month using a smartphone.

#12 Overall, the average U.S. adult “logs 6 hours, 43 minutes of total screen time daily”.

The question is, how is all this online time being spent? If people are engaged in marathon chats, gaming, porn or movies/TV, then the statistics are legit. If they're reading articles, teleworking and being productive, then they aren't. The internet is a double-edged sword.

#15 Every 24 hours, more than a third of all Americans eat fast food.

In what way does this make someone an idiot? Now, if the author wanted to argue that the practice contributes to obesity, he'd be on solid footing, but that's not what he's doing. In my experience, 'eating at fast food daily' means little more than 'doesn't usually pack a lunch' and perhaps "can't cook.' Does that make someone an idiot? No. Just unhealthy and, possibly, broke.
