That reminds me of something I heard a very long time ago . . .

"Utilities and REITs are stocks for widows and orphans."

And I said to myself 'that is right up my alley'.
Dominion Resources is an electric utility. It is a company I've
owned for the longest time. And it is one of my biggest winners.
It is, in fact, a 'gift' that just keeps on giving. With a sweet
dividend check every three months.

But why bond funds?
Diversification. Something that is likely to retain more value
if (or when) stocks go down for a while. Monthly income - they
spit out a dividend check every month. And, with municipal bonds
that income is federal tax free.
