...I think the "off button" on them things is mostly to make ya feel secure and it probably doesn't do anything. Kinda like that button they give ya to push when ya need more pain meds in the hosp. Doesn't do anything, but it makes ya think it did.

I admit to having one and using it frequently. It's important, though, to be diligent about disabling it when it's not in use. We tell it to do something (usually play music or tune in to a favorite talk radio station), then hit the OFF button when it's finished or we want to have a conversation.
