My wife and I just finished testing soil from the forest and from near the new green house. In both cases, the soil needs a lot of help. I'd hoped that they might compliment one another when mixed, but with the exception of Phosphorous, that's not the case.
`
At least now we know what types of additives we need.
`
My notes:
`
Soil Tests - 2019
The scale runs as follows: Surplus - Sufficient - Adequate - Deficient - Depleted.
`
4/29/2019 - Soil from the forest (most of the way down “the road” into the woods):
pH: 5.3 - which is midway between “Acid” and “Very Acid”.
Nitrogen: Depleted - there is no nitrogen. Add dried blood (36 oz per 100 sq ft) or nitrate of soda (27 oz per 100 sq ft)
Phosphorous: Depleted - there is no phosphorous. Add phosphate fertilizer - bone meal (27 oz per 100 sq ft) or triple superphosphate (10.25 oz per 100 sq ft)
Potassium: Depleted - there is no potassium. Add muriate of potash (9 oz per 100 sq ft).
`
4/29/2019 - Soil from 15’ north of the greenhouse (maybe ⅔ of the way from the phone pole to the cherry tree)):
pH: 5.4 - which is between “Acid” and “Very Acid” but closer to “Acid”.
Nitrogen: Depleted - there is no nitrogen. Add dried blood (36 oz per 100 sq ft) or nitrate of soda (27 oz per 100 sq ft)
Phosphorous: Sufficient. And “Sufficient” means “PERFECT.”
Potassium: Depleted - there is no potassium. Add muriate of potash (9 oz per 100 sq ft).

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
