Federal investigators are looking into the “apparent suicide” of multimillionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, found dead in a New York City jail cell this morning.
Millionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein had been taken off suicide watch before he was found dead this morning in a New York City jail cell, a source familiar with the matter has told the Associated Press.
The FBI and U.S. Inspector General will investigate the apparent suicide of the multimillionaire, who was found unresponsive early this morning in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City, where he was being held on federal sex trafficking charges.
Sources told the AP that he had been taken off suicide watch despite a suspected attempt just two weeks ago in which the wealthy financier was found unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck.
This morning, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, but died on arrival, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons reports.
