Good morning.
I have been dealing lately with the not too distant demise of my Father, and decisions I wish I did not have to make.
Of course, my other half, hears half a conbversation between my sis and me and has to become the kibitzer supreme from afar, which did not sit well with me as I was not in a good mood anyway. There are times when it is simply best to keep one's thoughts to themselves until a later day and then discuss nicely what your views are.
Anyway, besides having all this fun, trying to line up subcontractors to do some excavating in my yard and then having to figure out what fencing company to go visit or have several come oer to submit quotes, and listen to her bitch incessantly as if I can wave a magic wand, all while trying to tend to my dad's medical affairs, and go out of town on busines in different directions for the purpose of her feelings secure, (how much money does it take to do that for females?) I am taking a few minutes this morning to look at what you guys were discussing last evening.
MY MAIN CONCERN in the Syria thing is for the KURDISH people. I think that the President MUST, at the very least, be prepared to strike instantly from a nearby station, ANY Turk advance toward the Kurds or from Iranian based forces.
The KURDS ARE ALLIES. WE OWE THEM. SO we must be ready to defend them IF and WHEN that time comes.
DO I think we need to keep a base their in Syria? I dunno. That's why we have commanding Generals who better understand the situation and what it strategically takes to accomplish the objective. I would not second guess the boots on ground commanding general.
So If we can provide air support for the Kurds and that works to keep them from being assaulted by the Turks, then I am okay with the base withdrawal.
The Truth is the Turkish Army could over run that small little garrison we have there if they chose to. We could not muster enough troops on the ground quickly enough to stand the ground and hold.
BUT, the KURDS MUST BE DEFENDED at all costs as they helped us to put a dent in ISIS at all costs to themselves....
So I am kind of in favor of both views with some modification......
