Sire,
while I agree with the thought, I have done a few things without thinking in my lifetime that we not very well thought out ahead of time.
You ever make a mistake? (rhetorical question) Of course. We all have.
Cap'n was accustomed to doing these tings trying to scratch out a means of income and making do with what he has.
Unlike you, me, De, likely a few others who have the financial wherewithall to simply go get what we need and pay for it with available cash or check, not everyone is in that same boat. I have been blessed beyond what I ever deserved and truth is many of us have been.
But everyone isn't like that so they make do with what they have and keep on fighting. That is what I see in the Cap'n. He keeps fighting and has a strong spirit to not quit.
I step back and observe what he's doing and just marvel sometimes. I pay people to do the things he does and gladly so. Very talented and unafraid to try new things... Whatever it takes, get the job or mission accomplished. I can relate to that as can you.
So let's give the man some KUDOS for trying, and succeeding in large part. I know what SPINAL Vertebral pain is and deal with it daily. I only hope that they can still surgically repair me when it gets to the point I can no longer stand it. But I know what he is going through.
I suspect Captain Nemo learned an invaluable lesson in safety messing with cars. He has more patience and curiosity than me.
Sometimes though necessity causes us to have to push forward whether we like it or not, or your CO said to move up when there is plenty of whizzing noises in the air from lead flying past you or mortar rounds exploding nearby that fortunately you were not real near.
Didn;t like moving from a perfectly secure well dug hole but necessity and folowing orders was what needed to happen.
I am confident when MIZ Ribit says in that wifey kind of way the back yard needs mowed or something needs fixing you discover as do I that it was not a suggestion! lol!!!!
SO I am willing to cut Nemo slack because I have been where he is and am not perfect and far from it.
I do hope for his sake that he is able to get with a good orthopedic spine doctor who can help him because when your back is that screwed up you pretty much can't do anything......
