Just so you stay on top of things and know as much as you can about that condition, which I have also done, I would advise you to go online and spend some serious time reading about that subject from places like the Mayo Clinic, andother experts that are trustworthy.
WHAT does Degenerative disease actually mean or refer to?
WHAT on earth do these people think is Therapy going to do that helps the discs being squashed between the vertebrae?
The ONLY thing that will help is to widen the spacing between the vertebrae so the disc can "decompress".
DID they TAKE any pictures via X rays or anything?
If not, they are blowing smoke and have no basis at all for saying that. It could easily be something else related to the discs or disc like a herneated disc, or compressed disc which needs DE-Compressing. And there are new methods for expanding the spacing height now that would releive the pressure from the disc squeezing the underlying nerve root which is the source of the pain.
So youhave some serious reading and studying to do.
The Therapy is BS and will not help.
Been there and done that. Then went to a real spine doctor who actually did take the time to diagnose and get the proper film angles of the area I was havingpain in until he could SEE what the CAUSE was, showed me and my wife what the problem was, and then told us what our options were.
BTW, I STILL have those films in my possession here in my office. And they still look the same. SHows the three vertebrae pinching nerves . THAT is a cause of pain.
That pain went away.
SO I am not too upbeat about the delay in actually ordering radiology to get a real grasp on what is going on.
Without the films and different views, what exactly is a Physical therapist going to do or even know what do that would be helpful?
That would really hack me off. I realize this is what your new medical health plan is having you to do because they are trying to save money, but in meantime you are the one who is suffering and in misery...
I am sorry to hear this.... Again, do the research. There is a LOT of information available and I have read darn near all of it over the past six years...
