Unfortunately LL Bean has reached its pinnacle and hey day and is in declinig sales period. They still have supporters and people who buy their line of stuff, but not in the numbers they did before, hence, every company in America who has any sense will start shrinking their costs and extra centers that they do not need.
This is common sense 101. Like every other clothing retailer LL Bean struggles against other online retailers and their line of stuff is NOT inexpensive.
Some is good and a lot isn't. So there are NO surprises here. This is simply business 101 in plain sight. Amozon has taken away business from both brick and mortar companies and other online retail sales... It is a tough and competitive market.
