but how do I keep the pipes from bursting?

...wrap em and let em run just a tiny little bit. That works down here; Of course it rarely gets really long enough to find out.

I really don't know what options there'd be if there were ever a LENGTHY outage during winter. Sure, I've got wood with which to stay warm, but how do I keep the pipes from bursting? (The new house and barn will have generator hookups.)

Fortunately, power came back on overnight.
