On Monday, almost 3 inches of rain was dumped on parts of the region and wind gusts were reported up to 68 mph.

First, let's discuss Monday's storm. The highest amount of rain reported in the Hudson Valley was 2.59 inches at Westchester County Airport. The highest wind gust was also in Westchester: 68 mph at the Tappan Zee Light.

OK, snow showers. A chance for rain and snow showers is predicted after midnight and into Wednesday morning in Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester. Snow showers are also possible Thursday.

Yesterday morning we had high winds, lots of rain.
A huge limb from one of my oak trees broke & landed on the walkway in front of the front door, trapped.
Luckily no broken windows, my son used a chainsaw & freed us ;)

It made a strange day, stranger. The power came back at 5:30, for 30 minutes & went off again for 30 minutes, finally returning.

I'm grateful it wasn't colder, we would have had a blizzard & the day would have been more uncomfortable.
