...kathy, I don't drink except a cold beer or two about twice a year. Hard Alcohol even less than that. Never tried pot nor any other drug. I don't even smoke. Im about the boringest sumbitch ya ever met. I am also 75 and I think my lifestyle is largely attributable to that boringness.

...on the other hand I am in some kind of pain about all the time and I believe painkillers are not a problem, they are a solution. Once a man reaches the age of 70 he should be able to write his own prescriptions. Women should be able to write theirs when they are 39 more than once...

...when I was a cop they had a drug they gave alcoholics to help em quit drinking. If they drank any alcohol after taking the pill they would puke up their toenails. Pill Poppers and IV drug users were not as much a problem as alcohol back then.

Schweets, do you know anything about methadone?

I thought you may have come across someone who HAD BEEN a heroin addict and is now on methadone.

Doesn't seem to be any end in sight.

Once an addict, always an addict?

I have been researching it since the nurse left. He scared me.

It's not me that I am referring to.

If you're on methadone, you wouldn't have to take oxycodone, right? That's a pain killer but so is methadone.

To me, a non-medical person, it seems that you would never need both.

If you can help me out here, let me know.
