...yer bro should stay abreast of this situation as much as he can. Government incompetence knows no bounds and if something goes wrong he may not know about it til he comes home and finds that another branch of the government has moved all his belongings out into the street and changed the locks on all the doors. Maybe moved in a family of deserving homeless folks.

I think you're right. I'm reading about the government's CARES legislation now, and specifically about forebearance. While no foreclosures can occur within 60 days of March 18th, they can after May 17th. Loan recipients can contact their loan servicing officers and receive a 90 day extension, but it seems clear that the missed payments DO need to be made up at some point.

I'll let you know if I learn otherwise.
