AR-15 for 100 yards in. Bolt-action rifle in .270, 7mm Magnum, .30-06, .300 Magnum, .308, or .338 Lapua Magnum for greater distance and accuracy. 3x9 scope (lens diameter of 40 to 50) is plenty good. No need to go more than 4x12.
