Well De, I have been spending about $50 twice a week to buy goods. This morning it was $97. Do you think prices are going up?

I hope by now that it is clear to one and all why it is so important to have a decent chunk of one's wealth in the form of items with intrinsic value. We can debate until the end of time what qualifies as "intrinsic," but you folks get the concept. I hope you do. Stealing what other people earned through the magic of fiat money and a printing press is not only proceeding at full speed but is quickly accelerating. Those who thought a few years ago that they were well on the way to a happy retirement will, in many cases, get wiped out. You need to be thinking ahead and figuring out how you will get by if your dollar-denominated assets become worthless.

This is what I've been slowly working toward for 20 years. It ain't easy but it's important.
