And Now a Ga Bulldawg Story for Beldin
...once upon a time the university of Ga had (and still has) the statue of a bulldawg in one of the entrances to the U. of Ga. Big staue, weighed tons anchored firmly in the ground. Early one morning the folks who work and attend classes arrived to find a huge hole, a large pile of dirt and no bulldog statue. No one could figure out how anyone spirited such a heavy and awkward a thing away. Some folks even suspected "alien technology". Campus police were called in. County police were called in. The GBI was called in. No one could figure out where the statue had gone. Searches were carried out. Some even at Georgia Tech where the suspected culprits were studying the finer technical aspects of life and hating Georgia. No statue was found.
...somewhere around the tenth day the GBI got a phone call. "Look under the pile of dirt" was all the caller said.
...when they looked under the pile of dirt the statue was there. It had never been gone. Not moved so much as an inch. Some unscrupulous tech types had dug a huge hole in the ground in front of the statue and piled all the dirt on top of the statue.
