Autozone tried repeatedly to test it and was unable. They said that can happen if a terminal separates internally. I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds good. We bought a new, cheap battery from them ($111, but they gave us a 10% discount) and the van is running again with no front panel weirdness. (BUT WILL IT KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED????)

The van has 217k miles on it. This should be its last battery.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Re: "AC Delco Batteries are really good also..."
Yep. It took most of my life, but I finally learned that you get what you pay for when it comes to car batteries.

My wife tells me that the Charlottesville Wal-mart doesn't test batteries. That's the first one I've ever heard of that doesn't. Last I heard, she was looking around for an Autozone or other reputable car place. I don't know if she'll get it checked today or not.
