Re: "It is indeed mr. Gardener extraordinaire!"
This ought to make you laugh. Of the three 2,000 sq ft plots I tarped over in October, I have gardened just half of one. That is, I've added 1,000 sq ft to my garden this year. It's sad.

This isn't for a lack of desire or effort. I've put in an hour or two just about every day, and sometimes much more than that. Those @#$! rocks... The pile shown in the 1st image below is what I've dug out of the new garden plot. The older plot, in its third year, is pretty much rock free. It has 30 tomato plants, nothing else.

Whoops. I was interrupted by a tick crawling up my sock. White socks and shorts are what you want to wear during tick season (which is half of the year). At least then you have a chance of seeing the stupid things. Okay, where was I?

I left the laundry detergent bucket in the first photo for scale. The second image shows the new plot... only half of it untarped. It has two types of green beans, twenty tomato plants, peas, yellow zucchini, radishes, two types of peppers, chives, five types of lettuce and spinach (which I'm not supposed to eat because of its effect on warfarin.)

The first three zucchini to sprout came up today - I was beginning to think it was hopeless. So far, there's been nothing from the lettuce or spinach. They're two year old Burpee seeds so maybe they're too old.

Aside from putting in additional lettuce and radishes every two weeks, I'm about done with planting. I'll continue pulling rocks out of the new garden plot, though. My goal is to have it ready for use THIS YEAR, even though I won't use it until next year. As for the other two plots... 4,000 sq ft... I think they'll keep me busy for another two years. Ironically, I could be living in the new house in just ONE more year (Fall, 2021) - and its field has fantastic, practically rock-free soil. Fingers crossed on that schedule.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

It is indeed mr. Gardener extraordinaire!

It's actually remarkable that you can do all those things with that serious surgery you underwent... I am still amazed.

I'm good to go...

My betetr half now is interested in replacing her 2004 Optima LX white 4 door sedan with pretty much all the mechanicals replaced, brand new General Altima RT 43 tires all around, New complete suspension, brakes, evevrything.

It does not even have 100,000 miles on it and it is 16 years old.

So I am looking at Hertz selling off the fleet. There is one lot close by...
Compact SUV in our future for her.. She does not want a mid size. Claims they are too big...

Yeah, you can't make that up....

The Landscape company is coming tomorrow to take down a large and old Maple tree in back of yard and bring in over 20 tards of topsoil to spread and even out and get rid of low spots of which there are plenty. He will seed the yard, straw it, and fertilize the seed.

Three weeks later the yard gets a new fence put all around to keep the dog contained... I already replaced the smaller shed for a much larger one a few weeks back and it is a God send.... Very happy we did that...8 foot high sidewalls are a MUST for cubic storage. Several standing shelves along the wall in rear and three more on side adjacent. Entire rest of floor space is empty...

Now I can pull my tractor inside with plenty of room.

Happy camper...
