That seems a bit unfair ... on George Wallace.
Sad thing for this generation is that it will be remembered as the period that Trump was voted into office. He tars the country not only now but for all time.
As folks say, time for a new direction. But I am not sure that people have really learned the lessons. It isn't just Trump. It's the culture that produced him and the environment in which it grew.
Once Trump has gone, the Bananarepublicans will still be there. They will still have abandoned science. They will still keep trying to destroy the federal government. Gun culture will still be rife. They will still leave the vulnerable to their fate. Inequality will still be the goal. The Supreme Court will still be a far right support group. The parties will still be unprotected from new candidates of the same type.
Individuallism is a great American quality, but not at the expense of common goods. People will still say freedumb and not wear masks.
How do you change all of that?
