Hit the Garage Sales today...

The two of us went to quite a few sales today, but toward the end I told my wife that we hadn't bought anything really exciting -- you know, something terrifically unexpected that makes the whole day worthwhile. We'd found the usual collection of "kind of nice" items - two wooden step ladders... one 5' and one 2' - for $2.50 apiece, a pail (5 gallon size) half filled with nails - also for $5.00, two garden hoses for $2.00 each, a metal trash can (the kind you step on to lift the lid) for $2.50, a nicely framed block of sixteen civil war postage stamps, (32¢ apiece), mint condition, for $10.

Then we found a guy selling two bottle capping machines - useful if you want to home brew. I asked the guy how much and he said both for $5. I took those, of course. Almost immediately after, we found a sale where the ladies sitting down told me that they had just dropped the price of everything by half. "Everything but the brewing equipment, that is", they said. That got my attention. "What brewing equipment?"

They had a substantial amount belonging to one of their husbands - see the photo, below - for $75. I offered sixty and they accepted. My wife might disagree, but that was my deal of the day. Amazon has a similar copper coil, all by itself, for $69.99 right now.

In terms of price, the best deal though may be the nebulizer my wife found for two dollars. I've already got two - it's one of the best things you could have on hand if you contract Covid-19 and have to deal with it at home. It could literally save your life. In fact, I advised OCU to get one back in March: See the link below. They were running $120 at the time. Who knows what they're selling for today - if you can even find one?
