Still needs a silencer, 7 months wait. And, it won’t penetrate walls and kill your neighbors when using subsonic ammo.
Of course, there are cheaper options, for all of these, and do it yourselfs, but these, in my view, are the platforms for modern home defense. You don’t want, though, to pull the trigger and nothing happens. These will not fail.

My choice for an AR 15 rifle that works great and quietly. Unfortunately, very hard to get right now, and a long wait for the NFA license to take it home. But, small enough, to maneuver indoors, and you will still be able to have a quiet conversation with the cops who will come to clean up the mess.
Other than that the FN 15 DMR II is the top of the AR 15 quality and capability range, for all out ........civil war.😆
The PDW and the 509 are the main home defense hardware, in my view. Silenced and deadly. Maneuverable, forgiving to your own well being after firing them.
