Paul with my daughter Stephie.

I'm grateful she was with him all week & holding his hand.

This was taken last year on his boat, he loved being on the water.

My son Paul died peacefully last night.

The doctors warned us three weeks ago that he didn't have much time, complications from diabetes. He was 52.

He was born on Easter Sunday, my first child.
He was an operating engineer and loved his work. He had to quit because of his health three years ago.
He loved to fish & enjoyed his boat until recently.
He has two teenage daughters & three step sons.
He got Blake into the union. Tyler said if not for Paul he wouldn't have graduated HS & Marc was close with him also.

Paul would give you the shirt off his back. He lived large, traveled some, Hawaii was a favorite vacation spot for him.

We talked several times a day for the last month. Reflecting & sharing times that meant a lot to him & me.
We laughed some & cried often.
He didn't want to die, he didn't want it to hurt.
He wasn't in pain, for that I'm grateful.
my heart is broken
