Really nice, DE!

The steps going up from the driveway to the front door - do you plan on bringing up furniture, either your own or new stuff?

Put a railing on one side, not both. Have them sink the railing into the ground and pour cement. It will be firm enough so you can grab onto it in the snow. Don't do it on both sides, as furniture is bulky and you don't want to have to remove one side of railing. It costs a lot more to do this later, should you decide that's what you want.

Just a suggestion from someone who's been there, done that.

Step-in shower, shower sprayer and built - in fold down seat, yes, in the shower.

Don't listen to me.

But I hope you think of this when you break your ankle, ooops didn't mean that literally.

Lovely location, beautiful scenery.

The builder in the maroon shirt has a cupcake stomach.

..........or a huge beer belly!

Here's a progress report on the house. I tried not to include too many pics from any single day, but then there are also cases where two weeks went by without any photos.

Although the pics are unevenly distributed timewise, they are in chronological order - so you can see the turning of the seasons as you scroll down - though, I've got to admit, the relevant photos were seemingly taken on cloudy days and they don't do the trees justice.

Except for the excavation and concrete, the work has all been done by the two guys shown in photo #4.

To refresh your memories, I'll start with something close to the desired final result. It's not exact. We decided to get rid of the exterior door next to the garage. The brick chimney will just be pipes as we will have two wood stoves but no conventional fireplace. The front porch will be glassed (removable) and screened in. The bricks supporting the front porch will instead be the pylons shown in photo #2.
