Glad he's enjoying it, and I hope he is getting paid for it. I won't even pretend to be good enough to write an animated game . . . Although I do have some vague memories of doing a 'space ship shoot em up' sort of game in C for a Macintosh once upon a time . . .Crude and mildly entertaining.

Anyway, good to know everybody is safe and you can keep all that cold and snow up there please.

Zim.

Re: “Did it snow? And how much. Also, did Mrs. De and Sonny make it home safe?”
It did - for 11 hours - but snow estimates were badly overblown. We only got about 4 inches, but it was the big soggy kind of flakes that come down when it's barely cold enough. Soggy snow is hard to shovel but it's important to do so at the earliest opportunity since it packs tight and turns to solid ice the next night... which is now. The temp at this moment is 20°.

I spent an hour or so Sunday doing all the shoveling that's needed - a path to the street and clearing enough of what the snow plows left that the mail can be delivered. We'll have somewhat warmer days (36°) starting Wednesday and what I didn't shovel should take care of itself. I've gotten kind of lazy that way.

I need to buy some oil for the new snow blower. I've got non-ethanol gas for it, but I'm not going to put it in and start the thing up until I've also got oil. This storm was a kick-in-the-pants to get that done. If it had been a REAL storm, I'd have been in deep doo-doo. We had our first power outage of the season Sunday, but it only lasted 4 hours and came around bedtime anyway so it was no big deal.

Yes, wife and son are home. Joey's going a bit stir-crazy, but at least he has his internet. He's doing a lot of final exam reviews on-line with his students. He's a T.A. for several professors one of whom has him giving students sit-down reviews of their final projects. I think he's enjoying it. The assignment was to write an animated game in Python.
