Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Introduces Bill Banning Biological Boys From Girls' Sports; Is Promptly Called 'Scum,' 'Transphobic,' and Worse

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HA) and Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) have introduced bipartisan legislation that would effectively ban “biological” boys (please; boys are boys, girls are girls) from competing in girls’ sports, regardless of their so-called “transgender status.&8221;

(The notion of the need to codify legislation to keep boys off girls’ sports teams is a sad commentary on today’s America, is it not?)

As reported by Sports Illustrated on Thursday, the “Protect Women’s Sports Act” specifies that Title IX must be applied solely on the basis of a person’s biological sex.

For those in need of a crash course on Title IX:

Title IX was implemented in 1972 as part of the Education Amendments Act. This act was a product of the Civil Rights Movement and aimed to deter educational programs from supporting sex discrimination. The text of Title IX reads:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”

In other words, Title IX makes it mandatory for educational facilities that receive money from the federal government to protect participation in their programs against discrimination due to sex.

Facilties that fail to comply with Titl IX are subject to possible loss of federal funding.

With the above description of Title IX in mind, Gabbard said in a statement on her Congressional website:

“Title IX was a historic provision championed by Hawaii’s own Congresswoman Patsy Mink in order to provide equal opportunity for women and girls in high school and college sports.

“However, Title IX is being weakened by some states who are misinterpreting Title IX, creating uncertainty, undue hardship, and lost opportunities for female athletes.

“Our legislation protects Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex.”

In a separate statement, Mullin wrote:

“Title IX was designed to give women and girls and equal chance to succeed, including in sports. Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports diminishes that equality and takes away from the original intent of Title IX.

“As the father of three girls involved in athletics, I want them to be able to compete on a level playing field. I am proud to lead this bill that will safeguard the integrity of women’s sports and ensure female athletes can compete fairly.”

Again, as I said in the parentheses at the top, the idea that boys should not compete in girls’ sports should not even be a question — particularly to the Left; the so-called champion of “women’s rights.” Except, of course, in the twisted “hierarchy” of the Left, “gender-identification” trumps biological identification.

Bottom line: get over it, girls and women who disagree.

Perfect example: this clown tweeted “HER TRUE COLORS.” (Gotta go all-caps to show how mad you are, you know.) Then he doesn’t even own it, saying the legislation “has been slammed” as “blatantly transphobic,” vs. saying it himself. Nitpicking? Perhaps.

The sad reality of this insanity is somewhere between obscene and laughable — except on the Virulent Angry Left™, that is. (Again, I use the trademark symbol solely for sarcastic purposes if you haven’t already figured that out).

Within nanoseconds of reports of Gabbard and Mullins’s legislation, the VAL took to social media to call Tulsi Gabbard vile names. (The VAL always takes to Twitter to call people with whom they disagree — or loathe — vile names.)

Next up, this clown — who calls himself a “game programmer” and “breaking news reporter” at the equally-whacked-out Raw Story:

“Writer. Lesbian. Army Vet. Texan. Hoya” Charlotte Clymer went with the obvious “transphobic” and “non-binary” nonsense.

“Executive Editor” at the American Independent, another online left-wing rag, Kaili Joy Gray toned it down, a bit, and “only” called Tulsi Gabbard a “bigot.”

But even “funnier” was the commentary in the tweet from a reporter with KITV-4 in Hawaii that Gray retweeted.

“Hawaii Rep. @TulsiGabbard introduces bill called ‘Protect Women’s Sports Act’ — would clarify Title IX protections to be based on biological sex, which would impact transgender athletes participating in athletic programs for women and girls.”

Wait, wut? What about impacting women and girls participating in athletic programs for women and girls?

Stop the world. I want to get off. I’ll just blame 2020.
