(And I could write a dissertation on the subject.)

Mr Blue is the CEO of Dominion Resources - a rather
large power company of which I am a small shareholder.

Dear CEO Blue,
Green Energy does not work. Barak Obama proved it. Tens of Billions of dollars showered on so-called 'green energy' companies. . . and they all went bankrupt. The fact that I keep getting postcards asking me to pay extra money for the privilege of getting 'green energy' tells me that green energy is expensive energy and a bad idea.

If you really want to try and save the planet by reducing the use of fossil fuels, open Yucca Mountain. Move all those spent fuel rods into Yucca Mountain and then get the government to build a reprocessing facility for those spent fuel rods and turn the usable parts into new fuel rods. Both refueling our existing reactor fleet, and reducing the amount of high level nuclear schmuck that must be kept secure for an eternity. The next step, obviously, would be low interest loans to very large power companies who can and will pay the money back. Said loans to be used to build new non-carbon emitting nuclear power plants.

Last I heard the paperwork had been done to build another reactor at North Anna. But I personally would not even think of building one until Yucca was opened and all those spent fuel rods were moved off 'our' properties. (Yes, I am a shareholder – a very small shareholder.)

Green energy is expensive energy. Every time someone does an honest analysis that is the conclusion. Green energy is also un-reliable. Solar panels do not make watts at night, nor do they make enough watts on a cloudy day and they will not make enough watts if snow is on top of them. If the wind is not blowing windmills will not make watts either. At the moment there is no energy storage medium which can cost effectively store green energy watts when one has them for use when one needs them.

If America goes nuclear in a big way, we can power our factories more cheaply. Enabling the U.S. to compete with foreign low labor costs with lower energy costs and automation. Nuclear power plants tend to be 24/7 reliable, small footprints, and lots of power.

Barak Obama promised us lots of green energy and green energy jobs. Where are they? It doesn't work. Obama also preached that we must reduce our carbon emissions . . . next thing we knew the obama's was flying all over the planet in his and her 747's – Burning through the jet fuel. What's wrong with this picture? Al Gore screaming 'you must reduce your carbon imissions' – while building himself a palace that burns through more watts in a week than some folks do in a year. You want to reduce carbon emissions? I want a solution that ought to work and does not involve the rape of the American treasury.

Open Yucca Mountain and get off this green energy gag. It ain't funny anymore.
