Wow! You have a higher threshhold for pain tolerance than me..

The reason for the pain meds and the Spinal epidural before the knee surgery is because the doc is busy cutting up your Femur bone and your Tibia bone in order to fit the replacement knee. Lot of bone cutting going on and then they pound that spike on the lower part of the articicial knee down into your lower bone.. Nice.....

I don;t want to be awake, or partially awake to know, feel, hear any of those things... Just knock me out and let me sleep. When I awken it will be over except for the painful recovery... Please pass the pain ball!!! lol!!!!

Hey, it just occurred to me: One year ago at this very time my heart was stopped and I was on a table gutted like a fish. Actually, I think they were probably finishing up since the surgery started after 0800 and, per my wife, I was in RECOVERY by 1330. It's currently 1205.

It's been a quick year.

micro: You asked yesterday whether I had one of those "pain balls" with which to self medicate post surgery. No, nothing like that. And I had repeatedly asked for NO NARCOTICS, so my meds were administered strictly per the schedule and on my request. I think they gave me fentanyl anyway...but I got by on little but tylenol, taken orally.
