Hi De,
Well, I use a smartphone because I have to. Its abiout one of the few technological things I utilize but mostly only use it for telephone calls and texts. It allows the clients to keep in touch with me and vice versa.

I am a fan of simpler ways of life not into keeping up with all the new bells , whistles, gizmos and gadgets the Generation Xers and such can dream up.

I am content to use my own desktop computer that I built from scratch including the case , power supply choice, mainboard and processor and memory and cpu cooler and fan. I like doing things like that. Zim and I have a lot in common in that regard..

All this new stuff I am just really not interested.

My daughtyer sent us a Amazon Show. It was intended to use for face talks so we can keep up with her young children and them face to face.

I have discovered that Alexa wants to always be on and is always listening... SO I turned it completely off.

Just another technological spy machine...

Oh well. I am aware of things but just have no desire to use most of them. Only if I have to...

Re: “they can keep it. I will have no use for it...”
When I was young, I never imagined that we'd become a society that can't go out for twenty minutes without bringing an electronic leash, lest some important message be missed or delayed. Yet that's what we became. In fact, don't you operate that way, micro? I'm not trying to denegrate you so much as point out that almost everyone has embraced smartphone technology and ubiquitous internet.

In the future, I think most people will be online all the time, with displays, audio and internet even more readily available than they are today. I didn't see it coming previously, but I sure do today.

BTW, I'll never go for it. I *like* solitude.
