Today, my son is playing something he calls 'Capture The Flag" - though it has little resemblance to the "Capture The Flag" games you or I might have played in real life or on-line. The website ctf.brixel.space poses intellectual problems that teams of 5 are challenged to solve. They aren't easy. A typical one is here:http://timesink.be/speedy/
Joey's team is comprised of college friends. In the past, they've finished as high as 15th out of more than 50 teams. Joey is leading his team today. He's solve eight of the tasks, including the one posed above. A teammate that Joey says is far smarter than he is has completed another seven.

I asked Joey what the winners receive. He says he doesn't know. "We're doing it for fun." Then he paused and said, "But there are corporate sponsors, and sometimes the top players are offered jobs." Hmm. That might be a pretty good prize!
