Thanks De!
Herre is where this gets me about prices of new vehicles these days.

They cost more than what it cost me to build my own house. Including the additions.

And its 100 percent brick veneer and extremely well insulated in the walls and under it and in the attic.

So for me to look at vehicles that cost that much money kinda goes against my grain, no fault of yours.... Its just me..

Worrying about my hair getting into a car is never a problem. I don't have much left due to thinning..
Laughing Laughing Laughing

Maybe a USED One would be a better option as miz micro puts at least 2,000 miles a year on a vehicle... She drives them hard.... lol!!!!

Yes. It's kinda ridiculous for me to even look at vehicles for her especially when she spends ZERO time wanting to go sit in any, much less get in the car and go look at them...

I can see that this is going to come down to me just going and getting something and bringing it home and saying here is your new car. Ya got exactly what ya spent so little time or energy or input into but always voiced that its time to replace your old one... That you barely drive and it is old but like new...

Re: “WHY ? She wants to sit up higher. Yep. You can't make it up...”
The Highlander is my wife's car, so I asked her. She said "I like it. I don't feel like I'm as low as in a sedan, and it's not as high as [De's] truck. I don't feel like I have to climb into it."

Okay, so that's what she says. Oddly enough, the one and only criticism I have of the car is that getting in on the driver's side is hard for me. I have to lean WAAAAY forward or my afro scrapes on the cross-bar over the door. Maybe that's because of how she adjusts the seat - I don't know, but she's a little thing who always sets the seat way forward.

The all-wheel drive is great. She's able to get around in the driveway even if there's six inches of snow.

We have had a problem twice with the gas cap hood freezing shut... to where it almost has to be pried open. The blame for that can be divided between freaky wet/cold weather and a design defect. It hasn't happened with our other cars and, both times, we did eventually get the hood to open. But it's an annoying thing to have happen when you're at a rural gas station late at night.

But we're very happy with the Highlander. I'd definitely buy it again. Very comfortable car.

We paid a hair less than $30,000 for our Highlander LE (the low end model)... thanks to the blessings of living in a sales tax free state. And we paid another $500 for a 5-year undercoat offered by the dealer. Remember that I'd just lost the transmission on the truck due to corrosion caused by road salt, so I was gung-ho on undercoating. I thought that was a good deal for 5 years of protection; an oil undercoat that lasts just one season is at least $100. I think that was in August, 2019 and the car we bought was indeed a 2019 model.

The "high end" Highlander, at the time, had heated seats, a sun roof, and some other frills that we didn't need. We flat-out didn't want the sun roof. I hear that they tend to leak.

A quick look online reveals 2021 Toyota Highlander LE SUV. MSRP:$40,608; Savings:$2,970; The price listed by our Toyota dealer:
$37,638.
