Yep, it was common knowledge that they warned Herman before the season started that he needed to get the Longhorns to the Big 12 Championship Game (and win it) or else his job was on the line.

I'm not saying he was given a completely fair shot, BUT ... when they pay you MILLIONS of dollars ... the expectations that go along with that are usually pretty damn high.

Personally, I hope a major university gives me a head football coach position for millions of dollars ... I can't do any worse than most and it won't bother me a lick to get fired with a $15 million buyout.

Herman still had three seasons left on a guaranteed contract that was due to pay him more than $6 million per year, and the move means Texas will soon be on its fourth head coach since its last Big 12 title in 2009 under Mack Brown.
