On the 22nd of this month I will be having a multi disk lateral fusion procedure. I will be there at noontime.
Surgery is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
I am told by the surgeon's medical assistant and scheduler that this could actually move up earlier. I won't care if it is. This could easily be between 3 - 4 hour surgery and they make the incision in your side.
Some CAGE spacers, rods, and scrws, and bone marrow are all involved. The great news is that I will be unconscious so IGNORANCE IS BLISS. Otherwise I am already somewhat afraid because of things that actually Could happen.
But I have to calm down and trust GOD to guide the surgeon's hands.
And so surgery number 1 of 2 for this year has been scheduled.
Later on it will be a knee replacement....
I am so tired of being like Nemo, in chronic, severe never ending pain. I have trained my brain to ignore most of it and keep on but sometimes it just breaks through .
So, if this will help eliminate the spondylothesis from squeezing nerves and actually create a stable normal sized space for those nerves to be free, it should work..
But yes, I admit to being somewhat afraid because I have NO control. I am totally at the mercy and skill of the surgeon and asking The Lord to guide HIS Hands and give his mind extreme wisdom and insight...
Nemo, My prayer for you friend is that these foks finally get you scheduled and repair the problems and hopefully get you out of pain also... I know you are sufering also.. Its not a good thing to be doing that for so long..
