To spare my feelings?

Yes, and my own.

-----------

I know the possibilities of what can happen. Got to see it for myself.

I hope you understand that I just can't - I don't want to relive it.

Just reading your post made me nauseous.

I remember being in ICU with her and they asked us to leave. There must have been 10 people with varying machines lined up outside her door.

I was so hysterical that I called the cardiologist whose office was in another part of the hospital. When I am hysterical, I mean I am freaking nuts. The honey kept saying, "sshhhhh, people can hear you!!"

Ask me if I cared.

I have given myself a headache.

==============

This is my sick humor. "....Why'd you tip me....."
She tipped you? She gave you money just for leaning back? Wow, decomp, I truly believe that those nurses treat their well-endowed patients very well!
And you thought they were making fun of your junk.

Nope. They weren't!

Hey, how much did she tip you? If there's some significant dough to be made, maybe more people would want to go to that hospital - lol.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

Angie:

Re: “I never did tell you everything that my mother went through.”
To spare my feelings? Thanks. I appreciate that. But it's been over a year and we all love a good story...

The mother of my son's best friend had it done and came out a paraplegic. Others have had their phrenic nerve severed and emerged with a paralyzed diaphragm. (My phrenic nerve got tweaked. I had a minor issue with my breathing for one or two months. Then one day - as my surgeon predicted - the problem just went away.) Others die from embolism or thrombosis.

I had six things coming out of my body post-surgery that I didn't have pre-surgery. When they pulled the one from my neck, they made me lie down on my back. Then they tipped the bed so my head was significantly lower than my feet and the nurse or tech or doctor or whatever she was yanked out a long tube. When she had it out, I was allowed to sit up. "Why'd you tip me?" I asked. "So that if an air bubble entered, it wouldn't go to your brain and kill you," she said. "How can you be sure one didn't?" I asked, probing for details. "We'd already know," she said.
