Yeah ... when 45% have already declared they don't believe a trial should even proceed, this farce is already cooked.

And De is correct ... the Chief Justice is required to preside. It speaks volumes that Roberts is declining to do so ... he knows this is an unconstitutional farce and doesn't want to be a party to it.
