Well De,
I'm not so sure it is a 'dream' as much as it is a desire to take my 'contribution to the economy' out of a State with no respect for the needs of its citizens and to a State more in line with the dictates of the Constitution. I can't think of a better way to put it than that.

Or is Oklahoma not such a State?

The climate is nice here in VA. Near the coast we get a little snow most every year . . . but it usually doesn't stay long. But with the residents of the State of VA not challenging the obviously stolen election . . . .

I really don't know what to do here.

Zim.

Re: “Instead . . . its depressing.”
Yes it is. We all should go after our dreams. We only live once.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I have an aunt in Connecticut who has severe dementia. Since she has no kids, a sizeable estate and money already being spent for "her" care (that somehow has turned into cars and pretty good salaries for cousins providing minimal care), squabbling among the family has already begun and is ripping the extended family apart. Everybody is on one side or the other. Since they're all "relatives I barely know," I'm able to mostly stay out of it. These people have been fighting amongst one another since they were kids living on the same block. Now that my aunt (who everybody loved) is on her last legs and her money is surfacing, teeth are bared and knives are out. It's a terrible, sad situation.

You should consider moving when things get better, and maybe start now with planning what you want to do. That alone could take years. Since you too are getting older, if you don't do this it will likely never happen. There are always reasons for NOT chasing your dreams, and it'd be sad - like oldCADuser who spoke for years of his dream to move back to Michigan. He waited too long though and has now given it up, confined for life to a 2-bedroom house on a postage stamp lot in ugly Irvine.
