I just came back from Msckay Island Wildlife Refuge (North east North Carolina). Temperatures in the upper 30's the whole trip. Saw a couple of snow flakes on the way back . . .

I also saw ducks, ibis, egrets, and Great Blue Herons. I might have seen a bald eagle, but I won't swear to it. I did not see any snow geese - the reason I made the trip.

Nice little outing though.

Zim.

The nor'easter that has been all over the news is only supposed to graze my part of New Hampshire. Snow began to fall about 5 PM and now, at 12:30 AM, is already about 8 inches deep. Just 8 to 13 inches are expected, and the storm is supposed to continue for another 27 hours - so we are obviously exceeding expectations.

I just shoveled the deck and two thirds of the dog yard. If the storm continues as it has, I'll need to do it again in the morning or the poor dog will have to learn to use the toilet.
