I have been unable to get to my office and sit at the computer work desk last week.
Here is an update, especially useful for Nemo.
I had a re-examination by my surgeon I think Friday early morning.
I also met the rest of the care team. That includes the Physical therapist and the PA. (physician's assistant)
Doc told me and my wife again that this is going to be a six month recovery and done in baby steps... He assgned me to this Therapist who went over exercises of certain areas for me to be exercising as I am able.. We'll get some ew ones after I see doc again a couple of weeks and meet with the therapist assigned to my team ...
Doc re-inforced the six month recovery. Rule 1 was do nothing stupid... like trying to rush anything, and th CARDINAL rule: No bending, TWISTING, Turning, ever.....
So apparently this recovery will take longer than I expected.. This will be true also for NEMO. (RU Paying attention cap'n? lol!!)
SO, moving on to worsening problem. THE KNEE. Right one. It is really the overwhelming source of serious pain I am experiencing 24/7. I mean intense catch your undivided attention sharp, sudden, shooting pain that simply does not let up or quit,...
I have been sleepless now for a week.. No place to lay down and sleep without being nailed by shooting pains from this knee. I have tried every BED in the house, the dual recliners, the large sectional sofa.
Pain relievers for my back are being laughed at by this knee.....
My theory on the knee is that the surgery on the spinal fusion must be healing because I did not feel the knee thru the low back surgery before....
Now I canot feel anything but the right knee firing non-stop outward, inward, up and down, shooting bursts..
So apparently the back must be letting up because now all I feel is the knee.... That makes sense to me.
I made the decision to call my Knee replacement doctor Friday and make an appointment to go over this situation with him on Monday morning early. KILL the KNEE PAIN is the goal... I need to sleep...
I want this scheduled as soon as possible for the replacement.. IN meantime, please give me something strong enough to let me sleep. I need the rest for the Spine surgery and also for the upcoming knee replacement..
