Well, if all encounters with the medical world went as smooth as our vaccinations went this morning, it would be great. We had to drive about 13 miles to the medical facility. We got there about 20 minutes before they told us to be there, but that didn't seem to faze them. When we got to the door of the building there was a person taking temps and asking a couple of basic questions, like have you ever tested positive for the COVID, in the past two weeks have you been in close contact with anyone who's now symptomatic, etc. We then had to stop at a table in the lobby where they checked our names off their list of appointments. We then went up to the second floor where they took our signed consent form, which we had downloaded and fill-out at home, verified our ID's and sent us right in to get our shots. Then they had us wait in the upstairs lobby for 15 minutes to make sure there was no adverse reaction (there was none). And then they let us leave. We were in the building for less than 30 minutes. Note that we got the Pfizer vaccine and they've already made us our 2nd dose appointments for three weeks from today, the 28th.

The medical group that our family doctor belongs to just opened-up their vaccine program to people between the ages of 65 and 74. While we were watching the nightly news tonight both my wife and I got the notice on our iPhones. We both logged into the medical group's 'MyChart' website and were able to get appointments for this coming Sunday, February 7th (it was the earliest date that was open). While the rest of the country is gearing up for the Super Bowl, we'll be getting our first doses of the COVID vaccine.

I'll report back how it all went. Not sure which 'flavor' we're getting, although when I asked our doctor last month about when they were expecting to start vaccinating their clients, he explained that it would probably be the Moderna vaccine because their facilities didn't have the super-cold freezers, only normal pharmaceutical freezers.

Anyway, wish us luck.
