I haven't, but this seems to cover all the important stuff:

Recovery from hernia mesh surgery can take four to six weeks. Patients doing at-home care should follow hernia surgery recovery tips, including resting, allowing the area to heal and taking short walks. Right after surgery, patients should perform only necessary daily functions. They can usually have sex within one month after hernia repair.

A patient’s health affects the time it takes to recover from hernia mesh surgery. Complications can prolong a patient’s recovery time. Healing can take a full year.

Pain may vary from one patient to the next. Patients can usually manage pain with over-the-counter medicines.

Some patients may need stronger pain medicines to control their discomfort after surgery. These pain medicines can have side effects.

Patients can expect laparoscopic hernia mesh recovery to be about the same as open repair recovery. This includes inguinal hernia surgery recovery time, umbilical (belly button) hernia surgery recovery and femoral hernia surgery recovery.

Most patients can go home from the hospital the same day as their surgery. Patients should have someone available to take them home from the hospital. They should not drive for a few days.

Most patients are able to return to work within one to two weeks after surgery. But patients whose jobs require manual labor may have to wait four to six weeks before they can resume their work.

Patients should begin to “feel normal” again about four to six weeks after surgery.

My personal doctor is seeing me around 1:30 this afternon to look at my post op problems and hopefully DO SOMETHING to help me get well. It has been one month today from my surgery. My actual Low back feels great. The fusion seems to have done what Dr. Kachman said it would do.. I am pleased with that. It is theother complications that have me in misery and chronic double percocet pain levels.

I need my right leg diagnosed and the problem taken care of with the vast pacific ocean living in my calf and feel like a bullet hit me in the Shin bone of that calf.

My hernia on the left lower side of groin area is growing. I cannot do anything about it and I have not yet had the CT scan to verify the muscle tear, but it is getting larger and hurts more and more,. So I need another surgery as soon as I am able.

That may not be for several months yet... This should be interesting getting from parking lot and into a facility and walking about a quarter mile to go get scanned and repeat the walk on way back out. Not looking forward to that.

HAS ANYONE HERE ever gone thru this before? If so, I would love to hear from you as to how this is....

Talk to you all later!
