Truth is you can’t go into any business without a mask. Pretty much everyone IS wearing a mask. Regular people are wearing masks, even road crews, etc. Some stores have signs outside that cloth masks and valved masks are NOT ALLOWED.
Restaurants are the only places were people sit unmasked. Many are outdoors. So, while there are situations where people gather unmasked, it is mot any different than many other places in the country, but in general people are masked out and about. Then, many people have been infected here, and those who lived to talk about it have some immunity, and those 65 and over are being vaccinated in droves to the point that 50 and over are now in line.
That is why cases have slowed. Still high, but back to October levels. Florida has the terrible honor of being NO 3 in the country for total cases after California and Texass.
Florida is masked now, though, let’s be clear, mandate or not. They have learned a tough lesson.
