While I still have 5 months of recovery ahead, My immediate complications as a result of that surgery have had my, my wife, and family doc's undivided attention for a few weeks..

I made some headway these past couple of days after a visit to the Vascular Surgeon, who is maybe a decade behind me in age, but well seasoned with expeience..

First thing out of his mouth was "are you wearing any compression socks? He wrote out specs on a Rx Paper and told us to take this to the local nearby compounding pharmacy who also has all the things for people with problems.. I got a new pair of compression socks taht are NOT TOO TIGHT but very snug and they work . Now all the aches and pains from the right leg are gone...

Sweling is now gone and I have gotten fluid to get out of my foot and leg by constant elevation..

That exacerbates the hernia with the bending so I only do this occasionally..

Walking is getting better and I can wear my Brooks running shoes again which help..

STabilize the right knee with a Support that squeezes it gently and helps it stay in alignment... HUGE difference in walk with no knee pain ...
Am wondering if getting some of the shots of cox comb stiff into the joint plus the supporot could delay a replacement for a long while?? Hoping so...

So now I have to keep an eye on the hernia. It lets me know it is there and I am tired of being stuck with needles and I.V.'s so am not loking forward to either the CT Scan with contrast OR the following outpatient surgery.... I wonder how long that surgical repair will hurt anyway I move??? Yeah, I am just "pained out" and beaten down.. But I have made some good progress in past couple days and happy about that. I also am NO LONGER taking any narcotic pain meds because I do not need to... I took some ALEVE this morning for the ankle/foot tendon inflammation in right leg and the hernia.. I will stick to that...

In late sixties I do not bounce back as quickly as I did ten years ago especially on a six month recovery major surgery.. I am tired and can;t be up very long as I wear out quickly..

THIS BOARD is my only source of enjoyment and distraction . I am in my Bible other times when laying in recliner...

SO good to be here.. Glad to see everyone and be able to talk a little.. Now if I can just magically make that hernia disappear........ Pooffffff.
