My wife and I just got our second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this morning. No reaction so far, but then it’s only been a couple of hours ago now.

Again, the process today was great, in and out in less than 30 minutes.

BTW, here in California they’re opening up vaccinations for food and agriculture workers. Our #2 son and his wife are scheduled to get their first shots this coming week. He’s 50 and she’s in her early 40’s. They both work for catering companies that support TV and movie production companies in the LA area. For the last several months, whenever they had to work on-site somewhere for a production company, they had to have a negative test, which they administered on-site three times a week. In that industry, it’s standard to serve breakfast and lunch on-site as that keeps people on the ‘set’ all day, which is doubly important during the pandemic. Our son and his wife have already had the COVID back in the April and May. His case was mild, he was only sick for about a week, but Martha nearly died and was sick in bed for almost a month. She never went to the hospital, just toughed it at home, which was probably how David got it, but she’s OK now as she’s a tough cookie from Mexico, and she lets nothing get in her way, literally (she’s won several of those TV cooking shows so she’s a sort of ‘celebrity’ in the LA cooking scene).

Anyway, if we have any reactions, I’ll let you know…

The medical group that our family doctor belongs to just opened-up their vaccine program to people between the ages of 65 and 74. While we were watching the nightly news tonight both my wife and I got the notice on our iPhones. We both logged into the medical group's 'MyChart' website and were able to get appointments for this coming Sunday, February 7th (it was the earliest date that was open). While the rest of the country is gearing up for the Super Bowl, we'll be getting our first doses of the COVID vaccine.

I'll report back how it all went. Not sure which 'flavor' we're getting, although when I asked our doctor last month about when they were expecting to start vaccinating their clients, he explained that it would probably be the Moderna vaccine because their facilities didn't have the super-cold freezers, only normal pharmaceutical freezers.

Anyway, wish us luck.
