Re: “You may remember that I bought a ton of science fiction books in 2019. It was in the ballpark of 25 boxes”I purchased 46 boxes of books today. Then my truck was full and the seller and I agreed to do it again next week. I didn't count but I'll guess that 20 boxes are left in her storage unit. She says she may add some more.

I haven't opened any of the boxes, but from my earlier purchase I know that most of what she's got is science fiction. There's some fantasy. There are some magazines. At $5/box, I'm not too picky.

The reason for waiting a week is to let the snow melt off. Right now, the barn is *probably* still snowed in. I don't know for sure since I haven't been to it in 2+ months. I assume that I'd have problems getting to it today, and that's where I want to store the books. In a week, though, my chances are much improved. Some warm days are predicted - by which I mean days in the high 30s and high 40s.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

You may remember that I bought a ton of science fiction books in 2019. It was in the ballpark of 25 boxes; my memory isn't perfect. The woman I bought them from contacted me two months later and said she had another lot. Before the details could be firmed up, she changed her mind on selling them (hey, we SF lovers are emotional about our collections) and that was that.

A year and a half later, she has contacted me again. Assuming she doesn't change her mind again, I will be buying another big batch of SF from her on Monday.

Right now, my flatbed trailer is mired in a foot of snow and ice, parked in the middle of my field. There's no hope of retrieving it unless the snow melts. But three days of warm weather are coming beginning tomorrow and I'm optimistic. My pickup truck can handle quite a few boxes on its own, but if she has more books for sale than last time then multiple trips will be required. I'd prefer to do it in one.
