M1 is the most liquid of monies: Cash and the like. A 5 trillion dollar jump in the M1 could hardly escape our notice. I think you may have mistaken it for the M2 money supply - which did indeed jump by some 5 trillion dollars in 2010-11.

that chart is bs, in 2009 5.6 trillion was 'monetized' by the fed. which goes strait into m1. money created/printed out of thin air. pure inflation - doesn't even show up as nat.debt, post ww1 germany to a T.
