I think it has a lot to do with if American citizens are faced with what they perceive to be an immediate threat or not. Americans are historically ambivalent about getting involved in violent encounters unless they believe they, their family members, their neighbors, or someone they believe to be an innocent victim is under impending or present assault. I agree that we Americans should be more thoughtful in considering the degree to which existential threats are "impending or present" ... in other words, to widen our scope as to what we should violently react to, now, rather than later when things have become more dire (i.e., threats that develop surreptitiously over time, like Democrats trying to slowly degrade and destroy our Constitutional rights). BUT, when presented with clear and present dangers, most Americans react hard and fast.

D.H. Lawrence's observation is still correct.

Decomposed > I hope I'm wrong, btw. I used to expect significant right wing resistance. It just never seemed to happen. At this point, I think that if it were ever going to happen, there'd be signs of it.

De,
I haven't forgotten reading about how (twice that I know
of) BLM looters left the safety of their demo-rat controlled
'safe zones' and the locals came out with their guns and
smiled at them . . . till they got back on their buses and
went back where they came from.

I'm hoping that was a sign.

Zim.
