The nation experienced its first great crisis in 1776 with the American Revolution. 82 years later it was 1858 and the country was heading into its second great crisis, the Civil War. 82 years after that it was 1940 and we were starting Crisis number 3. One more spin of the wheel, another 82 years, takes us to 2022... next year, and it sure looks like we're on the brink of SOMETHING.

Coincidence? Maybe not. 82 years just happens to be approximately one human lifespan. It's how long it takes for the humans who were around for the last crisis to almost completely disappear. It's even more true for the ones who REMEMBER the last crisis. 82 years is how long it takes for a people to forget lessons that are otherwise unforgettable.

If there's anything to this, we will soon be in a nation jarring crisis comparable to the American Revolution... to the Civil War... to World War II.
