Hi De.
The original interior includes band new drywall also?
If so, that needs to be primed first with drywall sealer paint. Otherwise it will simply slurp your new paint into it very fast and you will need twice as much paint.
My personal preference for interior paint is Glidden Diamond. It applies very well, is highly rated, and is really affordable compared to the Behr and Sherwin.
PPG bought Glidden a couple years ago but if you go to the local box store where they sell PPG look for the Glidden Diamond which they will now call PPG Diamond. Ithas very low odor and rols on very nicely and hides...
Great wet paint that works well and lasts. My entire house is painted with that as I did my father's sprawling home with it also. I argued with the so called painting contractor, got them to try it, and to their ignorant astonishment actually liked it versus Sherwin Williams.
That is what I would use if I had your project but you must use drywall primer on new drywall first.... It has to be sealed...
HOME DEPOT carries the PPG DIAMOND the diamond is the former Glidden Diamond, the top of line Glidden interior paint.
Behr is good paint but I like the Glidden betetr because it is ot as THICK and rolls out easier and is far less money... and it is very low odor..
