Re: “Is the town bigger than just a few buildings?”
Nope. The town proper is about the smallest thing you've ever seen. There's a church on one side and a General Store on the other. The General Store used to have an adjoining Post Office but they shut it down for keeps in December. Aside from that, there are a dozen or so homes on "Main Street." I don't think there's anything else.

I'm happy about that General Store. It means that if worst came to worst, we could get food and a few other essentials. And it's just 5 minutes away on foot. There's nothing else but residences, small farms and trees for ... 2.3 miles. Then there's a real town, albeit a small one.

In looking at my own photo, I notice a red building behind the white church and white General Store. I don't know what it is. It doesn't look like a house, but maybe. I believe it is on a different road, one that I've never had reason to travel. I supposed it could be the town's toxic waste dump or nuclear power plant.. ! I'll check it out the next time I'm there.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

Beautiful De !!

Did I ask before if you ere making sure you had easy access to your attic while it is being built rather than later after the insulation is in?
You will want that, like a folding stairs that is spring loaed and folds down from being flat in the ceiling....

You may want to get into the attic at some point and those small little access panels they usuallyleave in some closet ain't very convenient, especially as you age a little..
Best thing I ever did some 40 years ago. It has saved me lots of times and enabled electricians and insulating companies and HVAC people to gain easy access to the attic.

Just something to consider....

The scenery is killer. Is the town bigger than just a few buildings? I realize you likely cannot get the whole thing in one photo so thought I would ask...

Thanks for sharing those De! Really something special...
